Web Site Design

Customised ASP.NET websites.

Need a website.

batFINGER web productions uses ASP.NET as the primary technology to create server driven websites.  Custom sites can be designed from the ground up and that's great, but due to the modularity of todays modern server languages like ASP.NET and PHP why not start from a template and add and remove modules from elsewhere. Data driven sites, with Content Management Systems, CMS, user accounts, voting, ranking user comments, update panels, animation, integration with web API's, maps, news tickers ... the list is endless.

Sites that use ASP.NET include

Content Management Systems.

A CMS gives you the website owner heaps of flexibility by enabling you to add/edit/delete content from your own computer. Yep, you log onto your site and edit away. Copy and Paste from word or notepad, upload your images.  Images not the right size a good CMS can even crunch the image for you and produce a thumbnail.  Most ASP.NET starter kits have a CMS built in. Database Driven Sites.

As you may have guessed most CMS use a database. Already got some form of database, hey even an excel spreadsheet is a form of database, then let batFINGER web productions put that data on the web.  Most ASP.NET sites can be set up to use a number of database types, notably, SQL, XML, Access and MySQL to name a couple.

Subsonic a Favourite.

batFINGER web productions particularly uses the subsonic starter site. This is an example. The subsonic kit generates a DAL, or data access layer from your database.  To put in laymans terms ... you gotta tha data, then putting it on the net is easy. The DAL makes all database operations, adding, appending, deleting ,querying a simple task. To find out more about subsonic
